1924-S $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1924-S comes with a mintage of nearly 3 million pieces, most of which succumbed to the melting pots of the 1930s. The coins available to collectors today, mostly in the lower grades of Mint State, survived in overseas banks, returning to the United States in the 1950s and 1960s (Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 2006).
The near-Gem specimen presented in the current lot displays rich apricot-gold color and glowing luster. A well executed strike manifests itself with sharp definition on most of the design elements, accentuating the coin's eye appeal. A few light obverse marks limit the grade. Population: 88 in 64, 3 finer (4/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
