1924-S $20 MS64 PCGS. Ex: Park Avenue Collection. This piece is sharply struck and fully lustrous with rich honey-gold color that is highlighted by light olive toning near the borders. The surfaces exhibit a few tiny marks that are consistent with the grade. Today, survival estimates range up to 800 coins, although at one time this date was considered to be an impossible rarity. In fact, B. Max Mehl once claimed that only three pieces were known. Walter Breen wrote that almost all known survivors were imported from French banks in the mid-1950s. Population: 79 in 64, 3 finer (12/06).
From The Matt & Susan Brown Family Collection of Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
