1924-S $20 MS64 NGC. An impressive near-Gem that exhibits fully brilliant honey-gold surfaces with frosty luster. Although this piece is not full struck, both sides exhibit sharp design details. The surfaces have tiny abrasions that are consistent with the grade. This date is a rarity in the series, especially in higher grades, with few Gem quality survivors certified by either NGC or PCGS. There was a time that the '24-S double eagle was considered a major rarity, even more important than the Ultra High Relief or the 1927-D. Today, enough pieces have been recovered in Europe and other overseas holdings that collectors can obtain a pleasing example with only a little patience. Only 19 finer examples have been certified by NGC (1/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
