1924-D 5C MS65 PCGS. We do not remember having ever seen a 1924-D Nickel with complete head detail on the bison. David Lange is of the opinion that the flat forehead on the bison "probably reflects a deficiency in the master die itself." This piece displays that characteristic softness on the bison's head, but the tail is split and the Indian's hair is well defined. The satiny surfaces show just a bit of light lilac and rose toning on each side with no obvious abrasions. A well-balanced and attractive Gem example of this rare, key issue. Population: 52 in 65, 1 finer (1/03). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
