<B>1924-D $20 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> An imposing Choice Mint State piece with deep orange-gold color, slightly lighter on the devices, and amazing frosty mint luster. The surfaces are pristine, and nearly mark-free. We are not quite certain why this piece has not been given a Gem grade. While the mintage of the '24-D was substantial, with over 3 million pieces coined, many were exported and most others were melted in the 1930s. While some examples have returned from their trip abroad, most of the highest grade coins have remained in American collections since the time of issue.
