1924-D $20 MS62 PCGS. Though all three active Mints struck Saint-Gaudens double eagles in the millions, only those of Philadelphia are readily available today; the vast majority of mintmarked pieces never left the United States and were melted in the 1930s. This peach-tinged apricot-gold example is an exception. This strongly lustrous and well struck piece shows few marks on the reverse, though Liberty's legs exhibit a number of abrasions.

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
