1924-D $20 MS62 PCGS. Many 1924-D double eagles were consigned to the melting pots. Most survivors, according to Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006), " ... have worn dies around the peripheries, as quality control was lacking." This MS62 specimen shows little evidence of worn peripheries. Indeed, the rim and most of the margin elements appear solidly defined, as do the central devices. Lustrous surfaces reveal a few too many marks for a higher grade.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
