1924 50C Huguenot MS67 PCGS. While the official literature for the Huguenot halves stressed that unsold remainders would not be placed into circulation (a fate that befell the Columbian and Monroe issues, among others), when the Treasury received roughly 55,000 examples after the sales period expired, officials there directed them to commercial channels. Huguenots were not so common that they stayed in circulation, however. The example offered here has unusually strong luster and bright silver-white surfaces overall. Orange patina covers much of the obverse periphery, and three small reeding marks are noted on William of Orange's forehead. Population: 36 in 67, 0 finer (3/07).
From The Cary & Cheryl Porter Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
