1923-s Monroe Doctrine Centennial Commemorative 50c Grades au58 details net au50
We attempt to take as deatiled an Image as possible of both the Obverse and Reverse of all coins and currency, While we try and accurately grade each coin, as coin grading is subjective, we encourage you to asses the pictures yourself and make a grading judgement yourself. We always 100% guarantee authenticity, but we do not guarantee any specific grade, nor do we guarantee that NGC or PCGS or any other grading company will agree to grade the coin. We strive for your repeat business and do everything we can to accurately photograph and describe the coin/currency.
Some Pretty colorful Toning gives this example a nice bit of eye appeal, but alas it has hairlines so I netted the grade. One may think that the reverse is the two continents of The western Hemisphere but upon closer examination you will see that they are two women bent into the general shapes of the two continents. When examining a Monroe Commemorative the cheeks of the two statesmen on the obverse and the figures that represent the two continents on the reverse are the highpoints and will show wear first. This coin has a planchet flaw on the reverse which turns into a crack at the rim. It does not reduce the grade as it is not wear but a Planchet Flaw, some may even say it increases rarity and value. Coin World's Coin Values lists au50 at $65. The Wholesale Greysheet lists au50 at $46. Estimated Value $50
