<B>1923-S S$1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> This high-mintage issue (over 19 million pieces) is common through Mint State 64, but its numbers drop significantly at the Gem level. David Bowers (1993) also mentions that it is nearly always poorly struck. The Gem we offer here displays sharp definition, with good detail apparent in Liberty's hair. Lustrous surfaces take on some blushes of orange here and there, and reveal a few minute obverse contact marks.
