1923-S 5C MS65 PCGS. David Lange (2000) notes that despite its relatively small mintage (6.142 million pieces), the 1923-S nickel is available in all grades short of Gem. This MS65 specimen displays light golden-gray color resting upon lustrous surfaces. The design elements are better struck than usually seen on the issue, though minor softness in seen in portions of the hair on the bison's head. Significant marks are absent. Population: 28 in 65, 2 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: James E.
