<B>1923-S 50C Monroe MS66 NGC.</B></I> As a general rule, the earlier silver commemorative issues are among the most difficult to locate in MS65 or better condition, and the Monroe half is a prime example. Large-scale sales to the non-numismatic public and the shallow relief of the design contribute to this coin's scarcity in high grades. This Premium Gem is far better impressed than most of its design, and the deeply surfaces have lovely hues of reddish-gray toning with russet and blue highlights.
