1923-S 50C MS65 PCGS. The 1923-S is an isolated Half Dollar issue in the early to mid 1920s that undoubtedly saw extensive circulation. It is the only Walker produced between 1921 and 1927, and the original mintage is a relatively limited (by the standards of many later dates in this series) 2.1 million coins. This coin has a markedly different look than most other Walking Liberty Halves from the St. Louis Collection. Both sides are richly toned with a base of slate-gray shades. Dappled cobalt-blue and, on the reverse, orange-red iridescence gravitates toward the borders with pale russet and powder-blue outlines to the central devices. The overall striking detail is bold, and the level of surface preservation is extraordinary for a date that is typically offered no finer than VF. Population: 28 in 65, 12 finer (10/02).From the St. Louis Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
