1923-S 25C MS67 NGC. This coin is an important Mint State survivor of an issue with a limited original mintage. It is also one of the most carefully preserved survivors of the '23-S Quarter whose smooth, scintillating surfaces are comfortably at home at the Superb Gem grade level. Swirling cartwheel visual effects are evident from the frosty textured finish. The strike, while a little soft over Liberty's head and the eagle's breast, is appreciably sharp in all other areas for a Standing Liberty Quarter from this branch mint. A dusting of golden-gray iridescence overlays both sides and yields to light, mottled, russet tinged shadings in a few areas. Worthy of a strong bid. Both major grading services report only eight 1923-S Quarters in MS67, and there are none finer without a Full Head designation (10/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
