<B>1923 New York Yankees Team Photograph from Bengough Estate.</B></I> Magnificent team image of the first World Championship Yankees squad was snapped as the paint was still drying on the House that Ruth Built. The gorgeously rendered silver-gelatin print derives from the personal collection of catcher Bennie Bengough, who is likely responsible for the handwritten "American League and World's Champions 1923" notation at bottom of the 7x9" shot. A few minor bends are visible at wide angles to the light, but the image presents as essentially NRMT upon normal viewing.
