<B>1922 Walnut Footstool Handmade by James Naismith.</B></I> The considerable carpentry talents of Dr. Naismith are evident in this 8x10x11" footstool crafted entirely by his hand. Underside is burnt with the inscription, "Made by Jas. Naismith, 1922, H.N.D." The initials stand for "Helen Naismith Dodd," his daughter, to whom the work was presented. This is one of only two relics from Naismith's carpentry bench known to exist, and the family retains the other.
