1922-S $20 MS64 PCGS. CAC. This issue constitutes a major rarity in the Saint-Gaudens double eagle series at any grade level higher than MS64. In fact, a mere 27 pieces have been certified at MS65 or MS66 (with none any finer), by NGC and PCGS combined (2/08). That makes a near-Gem such as this the only affordable option for a typical collector. The CAC sticker, indicating that the coin is at the higher end of the MS64 grading tier, is an added attraction. The surfaces are highly lustrous, with lovely honey-gold toning. A few red-orange alloy spots are noted on each side, the product of an imperfect alloy mixture. Two or three minor field abrasions are located on the obverse.

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
