Liberty's cheek and neck, and the open obverse field are targets for incidental abrasions, and many pieces are indifferently struck or have diminished luster. Then there's the present example, which is well struck and has attractive light golden-brown peripheral toning. Intense luster sweeps remarkably smooth fields. Even the portrait shows only the faintest grazes. An unimportant small gray spot rests on the base of the eagle's neck. Census: 6 in 67, 0 finer (9/06).
