1922-S $1 Peace Dollar--Die Adjustment Strike--MS61 PCGS. These are always interesting coins, pieces that truly explain part of the striking process. As a press begins to strike coins, it does so slowly at first and increases speed with each successive strike. The coins produced in this start-up process are weakly defined and are called Die Adjustment Strikes. This is an interesting piece that shows peripheral details only. Just enough of the bottoms of the digits can be made out that it is apparent the date is 1922. The mintmark is sharp on the reverse. Brilliant with a few grade-defining abrasions.

Coin Engraver: Anthony de Francisci

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
