1922 G$1 Grant no Star MS64 PCGS. 5,016 Grant gold dollars were struck before the star above the N in GRANT was removed. Shortly thereafter, 5,000 No Star versions were struck. Today the No Star type appears to be ever so slightly scarcer, if published population reports are any indication. When examined closely, remnants of the star are visible on this example, as it was struck with the same obverse die as the Star variety, but only after the raised device was removed from the die. Identical die polish lines on both versions confirm this. Conservatively graded and housed in an older green label holder.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
