1922-D<1C> MS66 Red PCGS. Poor striking quality and a comparatively limited mintage of just over 7.1 million pieces helped catapult the 1922-D into the limelight of the Lincoln Cent series. Fortunately, a small percentage of this issue displays excellent sharpness, the present Premium Gem example included. A delicate pinkish-gold patina graces the obverse while the radiant golden-tan reverse looks much as it did when struck. Only a few microscopic flecks of carbon on the obverse and a diagonal mark to the right of T in CENT rule out an even higher classification.
