1922 50C Grant with Star MS66 PCGS. The satin textured surfaces readily reveal the scattered die striations (as struck) in the obverse field that are seen on most representatives of this type. The strike is uncommonly bold, and the surfaces have survived the passage of time without acquiring any outwardly distracting handling marks. The 1922 Grant with Star Commemorative has a limited original mintage of 4,256 pieces. A conditionally challenging issue that is unquestionably rare at the MS66 level, this particular coin is a flashy representative of this key date issue. We last offered an example in this grade as lot 6862 in our May-June 2001 Long Beach Signature Sale. That coin traded hands for $12,075. From the St. Louis Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
