<B>1922 50C Grant with Star MS64 PCGS.</B></I> An important opportunity to acquire a Choice Mint State example of this scarce and desirable variety, created by the addition of a small raised star on the original coinage die. The result was a small incuse star on the obverse. Once hubs were raised for the design, a star was engraved into the hub, leaving the raised star design on the die, thus incuse on the coin. The original hubs used to produce dies looked exactly like the finished coin, imparting a mirror image to the actual coinage die.
