<B>1922 $1 AU55 PCGS.</B></I> VAM-12A. A Top 50 Variety. The popular Moustache obverse is combined with a doubled die reverse on the VAM-12A. Originally designated as VAM-2B, the variant is now known as the VAM-12A after the discovery that the doubled die reverse is actually a late die state of the VAM-12. The obverse, besides the prominent "moustache" die break, shows a small die crack through GOD. On the reverse many of the rays above and below the eagle's leg feathers, as well as other details, show doubling.
