1921-S 5C MS66 PCGS. The post-World War I recession slowed the demand for coinage, and fewer than 1.6 million examples were coined for this issue. This remarkably appealing high-grade example sidesteps most of the problems often associated with this issue. The luster is strong, like on most pieces, but the plum-orange, sky-blue, and golden toning that covers the piece appears in concentric rings, as opposed to the sometimes-unsightly streaks that appear on other examples. The strike is far superior to the usual, in spite of a touch of softness on the bison's shoulder, and the suitably preserved surfaces have hardly any marks. This Premium Gem is tied for the finest certified by either NGC or PCGS, with just three examples graded by the former and seven by the latter (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
