1921-S 50C MS64 PCGS
1921-S 50C MS64 PCGS. The 1921-S fifty cent had a mintage of 548,000 pieces, and is fairly common in the lower and mid circulated grades, but becomes difficult in finer levels of preservation.
Bruce Fox, in his The Complete Guide to Walking Liberty Half Dollars, writes: "The 1921-S is known as the 'King of the Walkers.' The mintage is the fifth lowest in the series but it was the least saved in mint state."
Freckles of tan-gold color dot portions of the obverse, but less so on the reverse, where the hues are less deep. The strike is somewhat above average for the issue, with sharp incision in the gown lines and some definition visible on the thumb of Liberty's left hand. The surfaces display strong luster and are free of significant contact marks. Population: 45 in 64, 17 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: Adolph A.
