1921-S 50C MS64 PCGS. Fewer 1921-S Walking Liberty Halves were set aside at the time of issue than for any other date in this series. As a result, the '21-S has earned the title of "King of the Walkers," particularly in the finer Mint State grades. This coin is every bit the equal of the MS64 PCGS example that we sold as lot 6309 in our June 2002 sale of the Marvin Elkin Collection (the Jon/Lohr PCGS Registry Set). That coin realized $25,857. The present near-Gem is untoned with a bright, silver-white sheen. The strike is well above average for the type as well as the issue, particularly over Liberty's right (facing) hand in the center of the obverse. Scintillating mint frost blankets surfaces that are devoid of all but one or two trivial bagmarks. Solidly graded as a near-Gem, and a find for the quality-conscious specialist. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
