1921-S 50C --Cleaned--ANACS. MS60 Details. In XF and higher grades, the 1921-S is the key to the Walking Liberty series. The mintage of 548,000 pieces was higher than the combined total of its Philadelphia and Denver counterparts, but there were comparatively fewer West Coast collectors. Examples circulated for a longer period, until they reached collector strongholds in the East and Midwest. The present piece is surprisingly void of marks and exhibits faint yellow-gold toning. The strike is good despite the expected slight merging of detail on the cheek and branch hand. A past dip has reduced the intensity of the luster, which nonetheless shimmers across the fields and devices.

Coin Engraver: Adolph A.
