1921-S 50C AU55 PCGS. Judging from the population data, the key-date 1921, 1921-D, and 1921-S half dollars appear to be a breed apart from many key coins: Each coin is considerably rarer in AU than in Mint State, especially the 1921-S. While PCGS has graded 138 Mint State examples (MS60 the lowest, MS66 the highest), it has graded exactly 40 coins from AU50 to AU58. While both figures undoubtedly include resubmissions, the principle holds. This example offers brilliant silver-white surfaces and excellent eye appeal. The centers are pleasingly struck, with Liberty showing part of a thumb and good head detail. The light highpoint rub is confined largely to Liberty's breasts, upper thigh, and the eagle's upper neck. A nice example that would fit painlessly--in more ways than one--into a Mint State set.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
