1921-S 1C MS64 Red PCGS. Ron Bozarth Co
1921-S<1C> MS64 Red PCGS. Ron Bozarth Collection. This issue is one of the rarest Lincoln Cents with fully brilliant red mint color. PCGS has only certified 16 Gems of this date, thus most collectors tend to seek Choice Mint State examples, much like this coin. The surfaces are of excellent quality. Golden-red mint luster is accented by hints of lilac toning. A few flecks of toning are noted, keeping this from the higher MS65 grade level. The design details are rather sharply defined, although some localized weakness is noted, especially at the upper reverse. This example is typical of original Mint State examples, according to Lange: "Uncleaned, Mint State coins are typically a subdued, brassy color and may display irregular streaks from improper mixing of the alloy." Population: 87 in 64, 16 finer (3/06).
