Both sides have extensive die polishing lines, mostly in the fields but also on some of the broader parts of the design, such as Liberty's neck and cheek. Identified as a new variety known as VAM-1H, per a letter from Leroy Van Allen dated February 28, 2005: "Die polishing lines on obverse and reverse ... no significant die doubling on obverse or reverse. Fine elliptical polishing lines below jaw and below bottom of hair bun are nice die markers! Reverse has small die chip at top end of fourth ray below TF plus polishing lines between S and O and single line at bottom inside of R in AMERICA." Many other die polishing lines are visible in the fields on both sides, including those from E in WE to Liberty's neck. Mostly brilliant silver surfaces with pale rose and iridescent color.
