1921 S$1 MS67 PCGS. With a mintage of 44.6 million pie
1921 S$1 MS67 PCGS. Ex: Jackson Hole. With a mintage of 44.6 million pieces, it is no wonder that the 1921 Morgan dollar has never been given much respect as a rarity. And, in fact, it is not rare in the absolute sense. But in Superb Gem condition, the 1921 is a very elusive coin. This is an absolutely spectacular coin, and it is quite unlike the 1921 Morgans one normally encounters in the numismatic marketplace. The cheek of Liberty and, indeed, all the surfaces are immaculately preserved. There are none of the usually seen tiny abrasions that one associates with this issue. The peripheries show a pronounced granularity from metal flow that is most attractive, giving the coin a matte-like appearance. The surfaces are brilliant throughout and show thick mint luster; the only noticeable mark is an angling abrasion in Liberty's hair. A rare opportunity for the Morgan specialist.
