<B>1921-S $1 MS66 NGC.</B></I> The untoned surfaces of this Premium Gem S-mint yield glowing luster, and possess a somewhat orange-peel effect in the fields. This issue traditionally comes weakly struck. In fact, David Bowers (2006) writes that the strike is: "Poor; about as poor as a Morgan dollar can be." The design definition on the obverse of this example is actually well brought up; sharp detail shows in most of Liberty's hair. The reverse exhibits softness on some of the lower wreath. A couple of trivial luster grazes do not disturb.
