1921 Liberty Standing 25C NGC MS65FH
1921 Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. NGC graded MS-65 Full Head. CAC Approved. Mintage in 1921 for all denominations excluding the Silver Dollar fell markedly from what it had been in prior years. This was a year of economic difficulty. No doubt resulting from the "morning after" correction from the inflationary drunken spree the country had gone on in World War I. With manufacturing and retailing at a low ebb there was little demand for new coins. Hence, the hard-to-find 1921-dated issues, like the delightful Quarter Dollar offered here.

Brilliant frosty coin. The paucity of pieces made this year may account for the fact that Mint State survivors come better struck than those of most other issues in the series. Whereas many extant Standing Liberty quarters display striking softness through the top of the date, the 1921 exhibits this feature over the bottom of the digits. Finally, both the first and second 1 in the date are slightly different when compared to other issues. The present specimen exhibits all of these features, although the incompleteness of strike on the date is largely confined to the first digit. As alluded to above, the sharp strike is free of criticism. Pleasing silvery iridescence overlays the frosty devices and speaks forcefully for this coin's originality. Pop 20; 9 finer in 66FH.
Estimated Value $3,800 - 4,000.
