Before pausing to consider this scarce 1921-D half dollar, make a note of this, it is free from the usual heavy handling marks. Moreover, its pluses far outweigh any negatives in the strike, the surface luster, and the overall appearance. A solidly graded example, this coin displays average to slightly firmer than average striking definition for a key date 1921 from this branch mint. This is not to say that the strike is complete, but only a few skirt lines over Liberty's leg as well as the weakness of the hand where it holder the branch keep this coin from being sharper. The eagle's right leg (as the viewer sees it) also shows that it lies on the opposite side of one of the obverse high points. It too lacks some detail and is smooth rather than feather-laden like the left leg and wings. A lustrous, choice appearing coin whose features will liken it to a Mint State 63 example in many ways.
