1921-D<50C> MS64 PCGS. The satiny, brilliant surfaces are a light silver-gold on this attractive near-Gem. The strike is sharp but not full, and yet Liberty's thumb is distinguishable. A few undistracting light abrasions help define the grade. The mintage of 208,000 pieces ensures the scarcity of this piece at the Gem level, and makes appealing near-Gems such as the present example all the more desirable. Certified in a green-label holder. PCGS has graded 33 pieces finer (9/06).
