1921-D 50C MS63 PCGS. The 1921-D Walker is an important part of a complete set of these coins, and this piece is an attractive example that is housed in a PCGS green-label holder. Although a few light surface marks are present on each side, they are consistent with the grade. This piece is sharply struck with a fully visible thumb at the center of the obverse. The surfaces have bright silver luster with traces of heather toning.
According to Mint records, the mintage was 208,000 coins. However, Walter Breen discussed additional records of the Denver Mint that indicate two die pairs were used to strike 165,000 coins from one, and 92,672 coins from the other. These figures imply that there were 49,672 of these coins that were never distributed, almost certainly later melted and recoined.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
