1921-D 50C MS63 PCGS. The post-World War I recession, 1921-D[50C] MS63 PCGS.
1921-D<50C> MS63 PCGS. The post-World War I recession, as well as the federal government's desire to replenish its stocks of Silver Dollars, meant that the Mints produced far fewer Half Dollars in 1921 than in the preceding three years. The Denver Mint came in last place with just 208,000 pieces delivered. Not surprisingly, the '21-D is a rare coin in all grades. This Uncirculated survivor exhibits an above average strike for the series with minimum softness of detail over the central highpoints and Liberty's head. The otherwise rose-gray and golden tinged iridescence yields to a number of small, scattered dark-green spots on obverse and reverse alike. Both sides are moderately bright in the fields with a smattering of wispy, grade-defining abrasions.
