1921-D 10C MS65 Full Bands NGC. The slackening postwar
1921-D<10C> MS65 Full Bands NGC. The slackening postwar economy of the early 1920s stifled Mercury dime production at all three Mints, so that the 1921-P and -D issues are the lowest-mintage regular (non-variety) issues of the series, aside from the vaunted 1916-D. Both sides of this conditionally rare Gem are essentially devoid of color. The critical highpoints are crisply defined, and the surfaces display a smooth, frosty appearance that provides impressive eye appeal. Both sides are refreshingly free of distracting contact evidence, and the bold strike is unimpeachable. Census: 40 in 65, 11 finer (9/06).
From The Tide Collection.
