1921 Cleveland Indians "World's Champions" Panoramic Photograph. Tops on the list of countless game worn jersey collectors is the style sported by Tris Speaker and his crew, who boast of their glorious October of 1920 with the slogan "World's Champions" emblazoned across their chests. As youngsters clamber for a look at the storied ballclub from behind the sideline fence, we get a far superior view from our vantage point, with such legends as Speaker, Joe Sewell, Coveleski, Smokey Joe Wood and Bill "Wamby" Wambsganss, who did his part in earning the jersey he wears by executing World Series history's only unassisted triple play. While the vast majority of the player images themselves remain in unmolested NRMT condition, the photo does display some condition problems, with water damage that is most apparent at far right and along the bottom of the left side. We must also note that a former owner has traced in ink over some of the white identifying captions beneath each player, though this is a minor concern. Only one player's image, the man standing at far right, is affected by the damage in a significant way, and overall eye appeal is still very strong regardless. This exceptionally rare panorama measures 9x36", with a museum quality matting and framing job to carry the final dimensions to 19x45".
