Silver cigarette case, inscribed with JC monogram and also "assassinated in Warrenpoint on 6th Feb 1921". On the evening of the 6th of February 1921 a patrol of B-Specials was attacked with rifle fire and bombs on Seaview Road, Warrenpoint. Constable John Cummings, of 135 Cambrai Street Belfast, suffered severe injuries and died on the way to Newry General Hospital. Aged 24, he joined the Ulster Special Constabulary in November 1920 and had only been stationed in Warrenpoint three weeks when the attack occurred.
