<B>1921 50C Missouri MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Certain design elements were conspicuously absent from the Missouri Centennial half dollar, including the word LIBERTY, or IN GOD WE TRUST, or E PLURIBUS UNUM. In a March 1, 2005 <I>Numismatic News</B></I> article, Paul Green wrote: "As a silver half dollar, it should have had those phrases, but did not, causing some to refer to it as the 'lawbreaker' coin." The Gem "outlaw" offered in this lot displays pleasing luster that exudes from silver-gray surfaces that were subjected to a well executed strike.
