<B>1921 $1 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> The crescent-like apricot-gold and russet patina is unquestionably original on this lustrous Gem; and the overall surface preservation is impressive. While the centers are not fully struck, as usual for this high relief issue, the legends are sharply defined. This issue is important not only for its low mintage of just over 1 million pieces, but also as the first year of the type. It is the only collectible date that has high relief, which some regard as a separate type.
