Rare Spalding positional trophy from the 1920s, figural first baseman in metal stands atop a silver plated platform stretching towards a throw from one of his infielders, his right leg straining to maintain contact with first base. 11" tall on a 4" x 11" base, pedestal reads "Spalding Trophy" with raised baseball and two crossed bats, with "Won By" in relief. The raised baseball is meant to be engraved with the recipient's name. Dieges & Clust manufacturer's plaque on the opposite base. Great patina with some tarnishing due to age, EX overall condition.
