1920-S 25C MS67 NGC. The 1920-S is an overlooked issue in the series, and it is also a date that was generally poorly produced. Even though 6.380 million pieces were struck, there are very few high grade examples known today. This Superb Gem specimen is certainly above average with excellent details on all but the head of Liberty and the eagle's breast. Brilliant throughout, the surfaces display outstanding mint frost that swirls around each side in a cartwheel manner. The only imperfection of note is a small planchet flake in the right reverse field. Census: 9 in 67, 0 finer (11/07).
From The Hoffy Collection, NGC's #3 Registry Collection of Standing Liberty Quarters.

Coin Engraver: Hermon A.
