1920-S<25C> MS66 PCGS. Standing Liberty quarter specialist J.H. Cline (1997) writes of the 1920-S: "Much, much weaker than you would expect. Weak in rivets on shield, head, toes, vertical and horizontal lines in shield. Gown lines and chain mail are weak on most. All in all, quite miserably struck." The Premium Gem in this lot, while not fully struck, yields better definition on most of the design elements than mentioned by Cline. The rivets in the lower left shield are all clearly defined, as are the vertical lines and about one quarter of the horizontal lines on the inner shield. Perhaps two-thirds or so of the head is delineated, as is all of the chain mail and the toes. Moreover, the luster is radiant and portions of the borders are lightly toned in gold. An unobtrusive mark on Liberty's lower neck is mentioned for accuracy. Population: 15 in 66, 1 finer (4/06).
