An extremely scarce mug engraved with A.D.R.I.C. crowned harp crest and "1920 F Coy Aux Division R.I.C. Lt. W. T. Toone S.L.I". With maker's mark of James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield and electro plated britannia metal markings. Walter Thomas Toone was born on 6 April 1895 in Bath, Somerset, England, the son of Thomas and Clara Toone. During the First World War he enlisted in the South Lancashire Regiment as a Private and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Somerset Light Infantry on 27 August 1918. Toone joined the A.D.R.I.C. on 28 September 1920, with the auxiliary division number 639, he served with J Company based at Macroom Castle, Cork and F Company based at Dublin Castle. He died in Bath in 1975 aged 80.
