<B>1920 50C Maine MS67 NGC.</B></I> Neither James Earle Fraser nor Cornelius Vermeule supported the Maine commemorative's design, criticizing the seal-and-wreath design as "ordinary" (the former) and "vapid" (the latter). Still, collectors today appreciate the issue in the context of the classic commemorative series. Bands of orange and pinkish-plum graze the right obverse, while opaque orange, peach-ruby, and violet toning covers the reverse wreath and its interior. Brilliance appears elsewhere.
