manuscript on Munster and Leinster Irish language cheque.Cheque for £2 drawn on Banc na Mumhan & Laighean Tta, Corcaigh (Munster & Leinster Bank, Cork), issued to Macroom Sports Committee. Signed by MacSweeny in Irish Toirdhealbhach mac Suibhne, stamped as paid on 13 July 1920. Also signed on reverse by the Secretary and Chairman of Macroom Sports Committee. Interestingly Cork City and County Archives hold a copy of the letter which enclosed this particular cheque from MacSwiney to Harry Murphy, Secretary, Macroom Sports Committee, described as "enclosing a 'modest' subscription for the meeting on account of having 'over- shot' himself in numerous other cases."
