1920 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. With a mintage of more than 59 million pieces, and a respectable rate of survival, the 1920 is one of the more readily available dates in the early Mercury dime series. Fully struck Gems, while scarce, are usually available for a price. A simply gorgeous coin, the present example exhibits attractively patinated, yet lustrous surfaces. Rich mottled russet-red toning is prominent on the obverse, mostly near the borders, and a slight degree of speckled charcoal patina appears on the upper reverse. Uncommonly well defined for the series, the surfaces are free of any bothersome contact marks. This coin would fit nicely into either a high quality type set, or a Gem collection of Mercury dimes. Population: 60 in 66, 8 finer (12/05).
